Book lovers launch Web-based book club

A new book club open to anyone with Internet access recently debuted. “Unbound: A Book Club” allows readers to participate from anywhere in the world. Club members read and discuss books together online and learn how to moderate and participate in a live book clubs.

Moderators Betsy Cherepko, an Army wife who is moving from Spain to Texas, Maureen Cean, a grant writer, and Katie Stokes, a freelance writer and creator of the blog, are avid readers and writers.

Mrs. Cherepko is trained as a high school English teacher. Mrs. Cean clips through two to three books a week. Ms. Stokes studied English and writing and treasures the chance to talk or write about what she’s reading.

The club, which boasts the motto “Where you read, we will follow,” is online at and A Goodreads group also is available. Its first six-week cycle is under way with members reading “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern. A final discussion on the book is slated for June 22.
