5 Things Friday: March 1
5 Things Friday – Feb. 8
We’re back! After a brief hiatus we are returning with our weekly listing of five things to do, events to attend, sights to see and businesses to visit each Friday with 5 Things Friday. Despite the predicted Nor’easter there is a multitude of events happening all over the north country this weekend. Check them out and if you want to suggest an event for 5TF, send us the details.
5 Things Friday: Dec. 14
Now that we are half way through the month, you likely fall into one of two categories. You’ve either successfully completed all holiday decorating, shopping, card mailing and cookie baking and you’re sitting pretty waiting for the snow to fall. Or, you’re like us and have yet to purchase more than two presents, continue adding ornaments to the Christmas tree on a daily basis and still aren’t finished, and haven’t even thought about what cookies you’re bringing to next week’s office luncheon. Either way, take some time out this weekend to check out the flurry of events happening throughout the north country, whether it’s a relaxing concert for a few hours, or watching a holiday classic at the library.
5 Things Friday – Dec. 7
5 Things Friday – Nov. 30
This weekend, holiday celebrations are kicking into full gear. As the first weekend of December, there are tree lightings and holiday bazaars and community parades happening all over the north country. We’ve chosen five things going on throughout the weekend from all over the north country that are both festive, and family friendly.
5 Things Friday: Nov. 16
With one last weekend of freedom before your in-laws and extended family flood the house for a feast on Thursday, it’s the perfect time to get out and about and check out some local events the north country has to offer. When you’re looking to sit back and catch a show, a concert or get some holiday shopping out of the way, there’s a little of of something for everyone going on this weekend.5 Things Friday: Nov. 2
For this year’s holiday issue, NNY Living is featuring quality, handmade goods in our “Holiday Gift Guide.” With winter quickly approaching, it’s time to start shopping for that unique gift for someone who will always be described as “the hard one to buy for.” This gift-giving season, look for wares that are made locally, right here in the north country. Not only will you be supporting local artisans and keeping your money right here in Northern New York, but you’ll be giving gifts that are unique, often one-of-a-kind, and can’t be found in any big box retailer. This weekend there are several different options, and not just craft shows, available to kick-start your holiday shopping adventures.
5 Things Friday: Oct. 26
Since Halloween is on a Wednesday this year, this weekend is prime time for getting costumes in order, testing them out at a few local events and getting prepared for the big night. Whatever you do, make sure they’re warm enough and possibly water-proof. The forecast for this week is looking a bit soggy. This weekend we have pulled together events that will get you in the mood for the Wednesday holiday and one event that we’ve always enjoyed and sends you home with a little something for everyone in the family, for cheap. As always, check back next Friday for five things to do, events to attend or local businesses to visit throughout the north country.
5 Things Friday: Oct. 12
This weekend is off to a chilly start, with today’s temperatures only reaching into the mid-40s, and a freeze warning in effect for tonight into Saturday morning. So grab a blanket, or two, turn on the heat for the first time this season, and get cozy. If you’re looking to keep warm, and on-the-go this weekend, NNY Living has plenty of options for activities to keep you busy, and entertained, for the next three days. As always, check back every Friday for five things to do, events to attend, sights to see or local businesses to visit throughout the north country.
