5 Things Friday: Five things to do in NNY this weekend

Each Friday NNY Living brings you five things to do in Northern New York this weekend. Check back every Friday for five sights to see, events to attend or local businesses to visit every weekend.

This amazing sunset over Sackets Habor was captured by photographer Andrea Parisi of the website www.iloveupstatenewyork.wordpress.com. NNY Living partnered with Andrea for our This is NNY photo story for our latest issue, which begins distribution this weekend and will be available at local Big M supermarkets next week. 1.) Open for business. The Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site officially opens today and tours of the Navy Yard and Commandant’s House are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Memorial Day Monday. Sunday: Tours start at 1 p.m. Perfect for having a nice leisurely brunch at Tin Pan Galley (get the strawberry stuffed French toast or huevos rancheros, you really can’t go wrong) and then taking the kids for a little history lesson on this sure-to-be historic weekend.
